An aromatic evergreen herb. Native to the Mediterranean region, it is used fresh or dried to add flavour in various dishes. It has a savoury taste with a touch of bitterness. Sage is used to help treat digestive problems, including loss of appetite and heartburn. In medieval Europe, people believed that sage strengthened memory, prompted wisdom and improved cognitive function.

Sage can be used to brew tea. It can also be chopped and combined with sauces or oils to stir into pasta or gnocchi. To make sage tea, add a pinch of sage in a cup, freshly boiled water and brew for 3-5 min depending on how strong you like it.
